Updates from Bulletin: Christ the King Sunday (11/22/15)

We will be celebrating the beginning of Advent Season on Sunday, November 29th starting at 4:00pm. There will be a Sunday School door decorating contest while the children and families are encouraged to participate in an Advent Wreath making session. The cost for this activity is $10. We will have all the wreath making materials available; however, if you have some of your own, please bring them also! We will be using fresh greenery, florist foam/wreath forms, and candles.

The children will also be wrapping a small baby Jesus. This will be wrapped and placed under the Christmas Tree at home to be opened on Christmas Morning as we celebrate the true meaning of the holiday. Again, this will be provided; however, if you have one from your personal nativity set, please bring that!

At 5:00pm that day, we will celebrate the Hanging of the Greens in anticipation for Christmas. Following the service, we will have light refreshments and drinks to be enjoyed in the Fellowship Hall. We ask that each Sunday School class bring a small snack to be shared.

**Please make note** There will be no meals or Wednesday night services planned until January 6th.

Pledge Cards are due by Tuesday November 24th. Please drop them at the church office.

On December 6th the church will be selling gallon sized bags of gumbo after the church service.

The Children's Choir will present their Christmas program on December 9th. Please make plans to attend this special presentation.

Christmas Poinsettias: Don't forget to order yours to help decorate the sanctuary by December 9th. Please have the florist use gold paper with a purple bow. Call the church office with the names of the honorees.

And finally....our new church service schedule will be kicking off in January.
